2008 Blogs

...since I've updated, and since I've been home - in Boulder.  I knew it would happen.  I came home on Friday with the intention of leaving on Tuesday.  It's almost Wednesday and I'm still here.  I blame it on race commitments - Koppenburg, one of the biggest races of the season is on Sunday and not racing it would be blasphemous.  There are other details, such as a lack of car to go back to Durango.  Plus, my friends in Boulder rock my face off and I'm just not ready to say buh-bye again (even if they do make fun of my new, trendy, and hip fashions).
Oh ice cream.
Does this look like dinner?  That's the Efrain's Burrito.  Don't ask what's in it - no one knows but the chef.  The only description is that it ranks 10 outta 10 on the hot scale and it is "a manly meal".  Delish.
Two races on Sunday - collegiate in the am, open in the pm.  We accumulated some snow the night before, and it was a brisk race morning.  Dan and Nicole greeted me with pancakes and eggs, and a hazelnut latte from their new espresso machine.  Hurricane, my teammate from last season raced both races, so it was great to ride beside her again!  Saw all the Boulder folk and it was awesome.  Chellie and Tim were waiting at the finish line with recovery cookies.  Beth was cheering for two with her 6-months pregnant belly.  The Towle voice of cycling was there cheering, but not announcing.  Heather and Alan were collecting info for their new blog (link info is coming).  Shippens and Brandon opened up their seasons, mixing it up with the 3,4,5's.  Missy missed out on a few hours of skiing to come heckle.  It was a great Easter Sunday.
