Notice Michael's very quotable and bloggable phrase: "I don't think, I'm a coach, I'm not supposed to think."
We met Mike is Dolores and drove together, arriving early Saturday afternoon. Kristin's co-worker, Beth graciously put us up for the night and made an awesome enchilada and spanish rice dinner which was heaven to my stomach after some hours in the saddle.
This is us rolling out on the first day, making some final adjustments on the bike. 1 minute into the ride and I was ready for a Sow your Oats cookie. Before leaving Durango, Kristin and I stopped at Bread and Rob loaded us up with calories for our big adventure. See the mountains in the distance? We rode through those on Sunday - the La Sal Mountain loop, or something like that.
Here are some pictures from our ride on Saturday in Arches National Park:
After Kristin thoroughly worked me over on the La Sal climb, Missy (Michael's champion dog and USWCDP mascot) and I chowed on a burrito and zoned out like zombies in the backseat.
