After a good couple few weeks in Mountain View and Sunnyvale, staying with rockstar duos Katheryn & James and Christine & Ted, I am now on my way back to Boulder. The first week and a half provided some perfect and beautiful weather for stunning rides. From then on out, it rained on and off, but was still some great riding with awesome people! The team flew in for the San Jose crit, built by Webcor on Saturday and the women's Amgen Tour of California crit on Sunday. We lucked out and avoided the rain on Saturday, but Sunday was a different story. It started in rain, it continued in rain, it ended in rain, and it kept on raining. It made it interesting and fun in a sloppy kinda way. It wasn't such a great team race for us, but I felt a little stronger as my legs were opened up from Saturday's race. Saturday was a great team race - which was good to show in front of our sponsors. We worked well together, and in the end Gina took 2nd, getting nipped at the line by LVG. Not too shabby for the first races of the season.
Here are some pictures from the San Jose race. Bryce, Kim, and Aim-dog came to check out what this whole bike racing thing is all about. The first three pictures were taken by Bryce.
The start in San Jose, with snowcapped Mt. Hamilton in the background. Just a week prior we were riding that in short sleeves!Cooling down. Pam Davis, of the Webcor/Alto Velo club team donated her RV for the weekend, which was a prize to have on Sunday when we were drenched and hypothermic after the crit!
The next four were taken by Greg Koch: www.gkphotography.netKatheryn, also known as Diesel. Or 6th Gear. Or The Stig. Or Braaap Braaap. Hello Moto. The green train. 'Nuf said.S'more green.
