I find it unfortunate that I'm in Paris and all I've seen are airport walls as I was sprinting from my delayed Chicago to Paris flight. After barely making my connection in Chicago, we waited on the plane for at least an hour. Flying into a headwind to Paris, we never made up the time. We arrived in Paris about 45 minutes late. I laced my walking shoes. I didn't walk briskly, I didn't jaunt, I didn't jog, I didn't run - I sprinted down the never-ending airport hallways, dodging frenchies right and left. I made record time through security. My flight was leaving at 10:25am. I arrived at the gate at 10:31am. Huffing. Puffing. Sweating. Hot and bothered. I missed it. They issued me a new ticket, to fly out at 1pm. They gave me a sandwich and a drink which almost made missing it worth it. Almost. I needed the internets and they're not free. They cost an arm and a leg in the eurolands. I figured I would need all the legs possible for the next 10 days of racing, so I bargained them down to two arms. It's 11:30am in Paris and 3:30am in Colorado. I think it is the 14th. Racing begins on the 16th. I forgot my watch, which is a problem because I always keep track of time with my cell phone. I also forgot a jacket - both rain and warm. I'm going to keep this here blog updated.
