There is really no sense in getting excited about future events. Anticipation, as in anticipating good things will let you down, and sometimes devastate. Relationships, upcoming trips, competition, even breakfast. When relying on any little factor besides yourself, I can guarantee the future event will be highly skewed from your anticipated hopes. After anticipating driving back to Boulder today, then having to wait until Friday, I started getting excited about breakfast. Really exciting: a bowl of cereal. I poured the cereal into the bowl, busted out the milk that I bought just 3 days ago, and poured out curdled nastiness. In a matter of 20 minutes I was devastated twice. Well, maybe just bummed out. Live through each minute before you move on to the next, otherwise you'll miss that last minute which could have been filled with fresh milk.
